Tell us about your experience in audit.

I have been working in audit for seven years. I started at another firm but have been with Mazars since 2020. What I really like about the audit profession is that I am constantly learning and there are always new challenges to face.

By nature, I’m a very curious person, so the endless opportunities are a strong motivation for me. It’s a role where you are always learning something –whether it’s about an industry you didn't know about, new technical knowledge or valuable skills!

Can you share more about your role?

I work in the audit department within industry and services. I audit different types of companies, activities and sectors, and I love the diversity this brings. Recently, I had the opportunity to join the Innovation Hub of Mazars in Spain, which has allowed me to discover new tools and business opportunities that the firm is studying in order to facilitate the work of Mazarians, as well as to bring more value to our clients.

What do you like most about Mazars and what have you learnt during your time here?

One of the things I value most about Mazars is the importance that is given to taking care of and promoting the human element of the firm. We have open communication with different departments and across national and international offices, which offers and enriching experience. On top of this, I feel that we have the appropriate number of staff to work with clients in a more personal way.

Thanks to audit, I have met great professionals, who are also great people; and I have grown professionally whilst learning a lot on a personal level. I really like how we work closely as a team, alongside our clients, and maintain high standards of quality and professionalism in the work we do.

How important is your team for you?

For me, working as part of a team is essential in this profession. It allows us to share new ideas and celebrate our achievements at the end of every project. However, for all this to be possible, it’s imperative that all members of the team maintain good communication and put in the work. Only then can you truly pinpoint areas of improvement from one project to the next and put them in practice together in the future.

Any advice for future auditors?

If you have the drive and a good predisposition to learn new things, don’t be afraid to dive into this profession – and to make mistakes along the way! Even though it can be challenging at the beginning, there is a great support system that will be there to help guide you through your first chapter as an auditor.
